Mother & Daughter Atlas Mountains (May Half-term - 2026)

“A HALF-TERM YOU’LL BOTH REMEMBER FOR YEARS…”

This May half-term, trade screens, schedules, and routine for something far more meaningful: five unforgettable days in the High Atlas Mountains designed specifically for mothers and daughters wanting time together that feels real, shared, and memorable. No distractions — just adventure, connection, and the kind of conversations that only happen when you’re walking side by side through a landscape bigger than both of you.

Your journey takes place in the Atlas Mountain Range, home to North Africa’s highest peak, Mount Toubkal (4,167m), and hundreds of miles of ancient Amazigh (Berber) footpaths. While we won’t be climbing Toubkal, we’ll explore lesser-trodden valleys and villages that sit between 1,800–2,500 metres, following routes traditionally used by local shepherds and traders. These quieter trails offer the perfect balance of challenge, immersion, and safety — and they’re ideal for families looking to share something a little out of the ordinary.

Over the course of the expedition, you’ll stay in small, traditional villages built from the region’s distinct red clay, giving you a rare insight into Amazigh daily life. Expect home-cooked Moroccan meals (think vegetable tagines, lentils, fresh bread), nights in simple but clean guesthouses, and early mornings surrounded by mountain silence. The area is known for walnut groves, terraced fields, and stone paths that have connected communities for centuries.

The days are active. Trails can be rocky and steep in places, with weather that changes quickly — a reminder that the Atlas is a real mountain environment. A reasonable level of fitness helps, but so does teamwork, encouragement, and taking it step by step together. Many families say the physical challenge becomes one of the most powerful bonding experiences of the entire trip.

A highlight for many is the deeper cultural connection. The High Atlas is home to Morocco’s Indigenous Amazigh communities, who have lived in these mountains for thousands of years. During the expedition, you’ll learn firsthand about their traditions, hospitality, and way of life — something far removed from typical tourist experiences.

Throughout the journey, you’ll be guided away from the busy Toubkal routes and onto remote, quieter paths that give you space to walk, talk, reflect, and simply enjoy being together. It’s an experience that shifts pace, perspective, and priorities — even in just a few days.

Who this expedition is perfect for:
• Mothers and daughters wanting intentional time together during the May half-term
• Families who enjoy being active and outdoors
• Anyone ready for a meaningful challenge, not a luxury holiday
• Those curious about culture, community, and life in Morocco’s mountain regions

Expect stunning views, shared achievements, and stories you’ll still be talking about long after school starts again. It’s not a trip for comfort-seekers — but it is a trip that creates memories you’ll both carry for years.

Women Only - Sierra Aitana & Guadalest Trek (2026)

Sierra Aitana: 5 Days, 4 Peaks, One Unforgettable Trek

Join us for five incredible days of trekking through Spain’s spectacular Sierra Aitana range, where we’ll summit four iconic peaksAixortà (1160m), Serrella (1318m), Aitana (1558m), and Puig Campana (1410m).

Our route follows ancient stone paths, shepherd trails, and mountain mule tracks — and occasionally takes us off the beaten path to discover hidden valleys and quiet corners that few ever see. This is a journey on foot, from village to village and valley to valley — active, challenging, and deeply rewarding.

Expect consecutive days of steady ascents (close to 1000m on some days!), balanced with comfortable accommodation and generous local dinners that celebrate the flavours of the region. 🍷

The Sierra Aitana is a natural paradise, rich in unique flora and fauna. From delicate orchids tucked in shaded gullies to the endemic species of Aitana itself, we’ll explore how this Mediterranean ecosystem thrives — and the important role humans have played in shaping it over the centuries.

Our base near the picturesque village of Guadalest places us right in the heart of the mountains, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. And with the coast just a 20-minute drive away, there’s even the chance for a refreshing seaside escape mid-adventure.

Each day’s route varies in distance but always allows time to unwind — whether that’s stretching out tired legs, exploring nearby villages, or simply enjoying the mountain views.

This is a challenging but accessible trek, with an average daily ascent of around 600m and 14km of walking, reaching a maximum altitude of 1558m at the summit of Aitana.

So lace up your boots and get ready to share an unforgettable adventure with a team of incredible women. Together, we’ll climb higher, laugh harder, and create memories that last long after we’re back at sea level.

Women Only - Albanian Alps (2026)

In the Heart of the Albanian Alps

Join us for eight days of wild beauty, cultural discovery and an empowering adventure.

This is a trek for the bold — for women who live for mountain trails, long climbs, and the thrill of shared adventure. Over eight unforgettable days we’ll journey through the Albanian Alps and the Accursed Mountains, crossing remote borders and wild landscapes where nature and tradition still rule.

From village to village, through forests, waterfalls, and high passes, we’ll experience the real soul of Albania — its legendary hospitality, vibrant culture, and breathtaking scenery. Expect long hiking days, laughter-filled evenings, and that unbeatable sense of pride that comes from pushing beyond comfort and finding your stride in the mountains.

This isn’t just a trek — it’s a full dive into mountain life. We’ll stay in family-run guesthouses, share home-cooked meals straight from the land, and listen to stories passed down through generations.

We’ll explore Theth and Valbonë, two of Albania’s most iconic alpine villages, where stone towers rise among wildflower meadows and rivers run glacial blue. Along the way, we’ll wander ancient castles, chase hidden waterfalls, cross mountain borders, and drift across the turquoise waters of Koman Lake — often called the “Albanian Thailand.”

Every day brings something new — cultural connection, breathtaking scenery, and quiet moments of reflection you’ll carry home long after the trek ends.

This adventure will challenge you — and reward you a hundred times over.

Expect full hiking days (5–8 hours on the trail), with ascents up to 1,100 m and daily distances between 10–16 km. The terrain shifts from rocky high passes to soft valley paths, always framed by dramatic alpine views.

You’ll need fitness, focus, and a fearless spirit — but you’ll never walk alone. Every step is shared, every climb supported, and every summit celebrated together - along with trusted guides.

This is what Team GC is all about: strong women, strong minds, and unforgettable moments of triumph.

Mixed Group Kilimanjaro (2026)

Kilimanjaro Adventure:

Eight days to the roof of Africa

Ever since Team GC was founded, the Kilimanjaro expedition has been our flagship. It’s the journey that shaped our ethos, our standards, and our belief that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things with the right support.

In October 2026, we return once again — and this year’s climb is set to be one of our most powerful yet.

- - -

Over eight days, we’ll tackle the Lemosho Route, known as one of the most scenic, least crowded, and highest-success trails on Kilimanjaro. The route gives you time to acclimatise properly and experience the mountain’s full range of ecosystems: montane rainforest, heather and moorland, alpine desert, and the stark, high-altitude arctic zone near the summit.

Kilimanjaro stands at 5,895m, making Uhuru Peak the highest point in Africa and the world’s tallest free-standing mountain.

Weather in mid–late October:
This period falls at the end of Tanzania’s dry season, just before the short rains begin.

Expect:
Dry but cool days at lower elevations (15–20°C)
Cold nights higher up (down to -5°C or lower)
Summit temperatures well below freezing with windchill
• Generally clearer skies earlier in the week, with cloud build-up possible by late afternoon

It’s an excellent weather window for climbing — stable enough for good summit chances, with far fewer crowds than the July–August peak season.

The Journey
Your trek begins in the western forests of the mountain, an area known for colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, turacos, and rich volcanic soil. As the trail gains altitude, the environment shifts quickly: from dense rainforest to moorlands dotted with giant groundsels and senecios — species that grow only on East African mountains. Higher up, the scenery opens into vast alpine desert, where the air is thin, the temperatures drop sharply, and Kibo’s glaciers come into view.

Camp life is simple, structured, and surprisingly fun: hot meals prepared by our mountain team, daily health checks, clear briefings, and the shared sense of “we’re all in this together.” Our local guides bring decades of combined experience and often share stories about the mountain’s history and the traditions of the Chagga people, who have lived around Kilimanjaro for over 300 years.

The Challenge
Kilimanjaro is not a technical mountain, but it demands consistent effort:
• 5–8 hours of trekking per day
• Increasing altitude with each camp
• A summit push that starts around midnight
The ascent to Uhuru Peak is a slow, steady climb across scree and switchbacks, arriving at the summit around sunrise. Seeing the first light hit the crater rim — after days of effort — is a moment that stays with you long after the descent.

This expedition is for anyone ready to be tested physically and mentally, supported by a strong team and a proven, high-success route. It’s the embodiment of what Team GC stands for: resilience, community, and the belief that ordinary people can stand on the Roof of Africa.

A true flagship adventure — and one of the most unforgettable challenges you’ll ever take on.

Mixed Group to Kilimanjaro (2025)

Kilimanjaro Adventure

8 Days to the Roof of Africa

Overview

This is a trek for the bold, the curious, and the determined. Over eight unforgettable days, we’ll follow the Lemosho Route, one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic and remote trails, winding through dense rainforest, moorlands, alpine deserts, and rocky lunar landscapes before reaching the glorious summit at Uhuru Peak (5,895m).

From lush forests filled with monkeys and exotic birds to wide open moorlands dotted with giant senecias, every step is a new adventure. Expect long days of trekking, shared laughter around campfires, and the unforgettable feeling of standing on Africa’s highest point, gazing over a continent at sunrise.

Immersive Experience

The Lemosho Route is more than a climb — it’s a journey through diverse ecosystems and breathtaking scenery. We’ll start in the remote western forests, passing cascading streams and moss-draped trees, before emerging into the dramatic alpine zone where golden grasses sway in the wind and the first glimmers of Kibo’s glaciers appear.

Camp life is an adventure in itself: tents pitched under the stars, hearty mountain meals, and evenings spent swapping stories and soaking in the camaraderie of fellow climbers. Along the way, guides share insights into the mountain’s unique flora and fauna, and the cultural significance of Kilimanjaro for the Chagga people who have lived on its slopes for centuries.

Physical & Mental Challenge

Climbing Kilimanjaro is a true test of fitness, focus, and mental resilience. The Lemosho Route is designed to maximize acclimatization and success, but each day still involves 5–8 hours of trekking through variable terrain — from soft rainforest paths to rocky, high-altitude trails.

The summit night is a pre-dawn adventure, climbing steep scree to reach Uhuru Peak in time for sunrise — an emotional, jaw-dropping moment you’ll never forget. Every step requires determination, every summit a shared triumph, and every campsite a reminder of how far you’ve come. This is Team GC at its finest: sbold adventures, and memories that last a lifetime.

Team GC x The B.I.G North Pole Expedition (2022)

“Since 2021, the B.I.G. Expedition team under the leadership of British Polar Explorer, Felicity Aston MBE, have been making annual ski journeys across the Arctic region to collect valuable scientific data about Arctic ice and snow – BEFORE IT’S GONE.

The Arctic region is experiencing climate and environmental change more rapidly than anywhere else on the planet, meaning our opportunity to measure and record many of the unique Arctic landscapes and processes which are fundamental to so much of the world’s climate systems has never been more vital or more urgent.

Working with key scientific collaborators, the expedition is gathering data that will be made freely available to researchers using open access datasets, as well as being used in a number of studies to further understanding of the Arctic and the changes being observed. These studies are being undertaken by institutions in the UK, the US and beyond, and include investigations of airborne microplastics, heavy metal pollution, black carbon, arctic clouds, albedo and snow depth as well as psychology in extreme environments.”
