OUR PURPOSE

Team GC was founded by Shadi Ganjavian-Connor in 2017 with one simple belief: that extraordinary things happen when everyday people come together. What began as a small idea—to bring like-minded individuals on meaningful adventures across the world—quickly grew into a community rooted in courage, connection and kindness.

Shadi’s background in marketing, along with years of championing charitable and youth-focused initiatives, shaped the DNA of Team GC from day one.

Whether co-founding SHAPE Hampshire, supporting scientific exploration through The B.I.G Foundation, raising national awareness for young people facing cancer and alopecia, or launching community projects across the globe, her focus has always been the same: spot the need, bring people together, and take action.

TO INSPIRE EVERYDAY PEOPLE TO BELIEVE THEY CAN DO EXTRAORDINARY THINGS

Team GC exists to unite mothers and daughters, friends and neighbours, strangers and soon-to-be teammates - anyone ready to broaden their horizons through purposeful, life-changing expeditions.

Since 2017, over 90 adventurers from across the UK, Europe, Africa, and North America have joined Team GC on journeys to Mount Kilimanjaro, the Atlas Mountains, the Sinai Desert and beyond.

Every expedition is built on connection, respect and service.

We work closely with local children, schools, charities, guides and sherpas to make sure each trip leaves a lasting, positive impact.

OUR ETHOS

COMMUNITY KINDNESS ⭐ ACTION

Team GC has always been shaped by hundreds of hands and hearts. Everything we do is fuelled by people coming together for something bigger than themselves - whether on a mountain, in a desert, or in the middle of a local community.

From the very beginning, our expeditions and fundraising efforts have been built on that shared spirit of purpose.

Together, our teams have helped raise over £300,000 for Imagine This, contributed another £45,000 through the Make A Difference Ball, and generated £137,000 for Hampshire charities on our Kilimanjaro expedition.

Alongside these achievements, we continue to champion youth programmes, community wellbeing and global connection - always with humility, respect and open hands.

These milestones were sparked by a simple belief: that ordinary people can create extraordinary impact when they step forward with courage.

That belief has taken Team GC from the summit of Mont Blanc in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust, to the icy slopes of Mount Elbrus for Allegra’s Ambition, to the peak of Kilimanjaro with a team of 20 remarkable women representing Hampshire causes. Every ascent - whether led by Shadi or by the groups who followed - has been rooted in the same principle: impact is a collective climb.

Because at Team GC, adventure is never just about reaching a summit.
It’s about who we become on the journey
and who we lift up along the way.

THE ‘ATTITUDE AT ALTITUDE’ (2017/18) SERIES:

Born from stories forged on the world’s highest peaks, this mini-series grew into a full Hampshire school tour, crafted to inspire and empower the next generation.
